When we put our hope in Christ, the Bible says we become God’s children. We become co-heirs with Christ. Scripture also teaches that we are God’s “special possession.” (1st Peter 2:9), and as children of God, we belong to a larger family; a royal priesthood, a holy nation.
Sometimes I have to remind myself of these truths, because the world around me will often suggest that I’m not so special, not good enough, unwanted, and that I don’t belong.
Do you ever feel this way?
No matter what you are facing today, this week, this month, or the coming year…no matter who says you don’t fit, you’re not good enough, or you don’t have what it takes…remember these truths:
God sees you and He knows you inside and out (Psalm 139:13).
He has great plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11).
He treasures you (1 Peter 2:9).
Best of all, when you place your hope in Christ, you belong to something better than this world could ever offer. You belong to the family of God (Romans 8:16, 9:8).
So the next time the world tells you that you don’t fit…just remember to whom you belong!
