Happy New Year!
Can you believe it’s 2016? Doesn’t it feel like 2015 was a blur? (It sure does to me!)
I remember writing a post last year to mark the beginning of 2015. It was about my “word” for the New Year: Love. My goal was to be better at loving God and loving others during the year, and being more focused on what really matters.
In review, I think I did better. But, I’m biased. This is a question for my family and friends…starting with my husband – since he see’s the real me more than anyone else (that will be a fun conversation!).
What about you?
Did you have some specific goals this past year? Did you reach them?
If you missed the mark, you have a fresh start today. Dust off the failures of 2015, and try again!
I haven’t set any goals yet this year. It’s January 1st, and I haven’t even had my coffee yet! But, this year is going to be different, for me. I’m not into New Year’s Resolutions, but I have always succeeded at keeping a list of certain things I want to accomplish and then working towards those goals.
That is my plan for this New Year’s Day, to make a list of what I hope to accomplish in 2016. I have some ideas already (weight loss being at the top ;). Of course, there’s no point in goal setting if you don’t talk to the man with the plan first…so I’m going to take time away and get alone with God. He knows the plans he has for me in 2016, and they are good.
Will you join me this week? Take a personal retreat, and get alone with God. Ask him what he has for you this year. Give him the glory for the good things that took place in 2015, and lay the failures at his feet. God loves you, friend. His plans are always the best.
I’m heading in the kitchen to get my first cup of coffee for the day, then off to take The Polar Plunge at Wrightsville Beach this morning for a good cause (more on that later), and then some much needed quiet time.
Hope your day is blessed, dear friend.
