Journey to Heal Ministries exists to equip and empower women who have endured sexual trauma with the hope and healing found in Jesus Christ. Founded by Crystal Sutherland, advocate and mentor for survivors of child abuse and author of Journey to Heal: Seven Essential Steps of Recovery for Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse, our purpose is to connect women with helpful resources – sharing the truth about sexual trauma, the healing steps involved for victims and survivors, ongoing mentoring and counseling, and life-giving community. Through both online and face to face group studies, sexual trauma seminars, and women’s conferences and retreats – Journey to Heal Ministries offers a variety of ways for women to find community, life-giving support, and the wisdom they will need to navigate the challenging road of recovery ahead.

What women are saying about us…
“If you are lucky enough to be able to go on the Journey to Heal Women’s Retreat at Wrightsville Beach, NC, please do so! This was the most beautiful weekend, spending time working on my healing with other women. There was plenty of alone time scheduled, too. Crystal has taken being an author and set the bar really high! I don’t know of anyone else writing about such a sensitive topic and having groups and retreats. Journey to Heal has taught me so many important parts to my healing that traditional counseling just did cover!” – Journey to Heal Retreat Attendee, Wilmington, NC
“For nearly fifty years, I’ve lived in a shadow from a mountain I was unable to walk out of. It was a shadow of insecurity, self-doubt, triggers and a negative self-image. I gave my heart to Jesus when I was twelve years old and could never understand why, no matter how close (or how far) my walk with Christ, I was shadowed. Until I took the leap of faith and decided to acknowledge my past. Through Journey to Heal, I came to understand, you can’t hide from your past, it is part of who you are. More importantly I understood addressing the past, isn’t dwelling on it, it’s a first step of processing through it. Journey to Heal is the tool, which help me break down the walls of childhood sexual trauma, so true healing could take place.” – Lisa Weldrick, Face to Face Journey to Heal Group, Wilmington, NC
“Journey to Heal helped me work through the feelings and behaviors that I have struggled with for years. By dealing with the layers of pain and seeing God’s Word to comfort, support, and guide me through the messiness. Crystal takes healing into the cyber world and you can join a group with other women reading the book! I highly recommend this group! It is a chance to meet Crystal, make new friends, and have support as you go through her book.” – Journey to Heal Online Study Participant
