It’s really not about the presents…although, they are nice to both give and receive. No, for me it’s the season itself that makes me all warm and fuzzy on the inside! It’s all about grace and hope.
I absolutely love how people seem to be a little kinder, smile a little more than usual, and offer the gift of grace more than any other time of the year. The atmosphere is just different (once Black Friday has come and gone, of course;)!
It’s like the whole world, or at least my hometown, is sprinkled with goodness and everyone is just…well…kinder!
Why is this? I think it’s because Christmas is a season of remembering what God has done for us all, through his son Jesus. A savior was born on Christmas day, so that we can experience the grace and love of God. Whether people believe in him or not, his message of hope seems to be the song sung deep in our hearts. It carries us through the weeks leading up to Christmas day, and inspires us to act in love, to be generous with others, and to extend grace when needed, more than any other time of the year.
What are you doing this Christmas? I pray this season is filled with good things for you and your family, and that you experience the love of God through his son Jesus in a powerful way this year!
